Sparking coil Sun, 07 August 2005 10:13 Go to previous message
Hey, I got home this morning and noticed my engine was idling strangely. It was missing every ten or so seconds and I could hear something sparking under the bonnet. I had a look and because it was still dark I could see a spark jumping between +ve and -ve on the coil in time to when it was missing. I have covered both with electrical tape and seems to have stopped.

I have a 1GGE in an RA40 run with wolf 3D v3. There is an extra wire on the coil for aftermarket tacho.

Just wondering why it would have been sparking and if electrical tape is reasonable fix. Should it just have been insulated in the first place?

cheers
