How to cleaning engine for rebuild Mon, 17 October 2005 07:29 Go to previous message

Hi,

I have a particularly gunked up old hgih comp 4AGZE in my garage, so far I have stolen shims and head bolts and other stuff off it Smile for my AW11SC, but I plan to rebuilt it.

What is a good method to clean the caked on crud / burn't oil and god knows what else off from under the cam covers?

Is there some kind of chemical dip that can be used for an alloy cylinder head? I have a feeling that this job is too extreme for spray on de-greaser!

Cheers, Nick
