Fuel pressure = 75PSI...on a stock 4AGE????What are my options for running new fuel lines??? Sat, 26 November 2005 11:22 Go to previous message
Ever since I put the 4AGE in my Sprinter I have been getting about 200mks to a tank, no matter how I drive. and in the last 6mths it has developed a flat spot between 3500rpm and where TVIS opens at about 4300rpm.
I finally took it to a mechanic to get a fuel pressure test, and it came back as 75PSI constantly!
Can anyone suggest why the hell this is happening?
Mechanic said its most probably a blocked return fuel line, but when I changed the fuel pressure regulators on both ends of the fuel rail the flat spot disappeared for about 10mins then it came back again! Something is screwing out my fuel pressure regulators and its really annoying me!Can a fuel pressure regulator even get broken?don't they just operate via vaccum, so how can they break, let alone be broken within 10mins of installation?
I have a spare fuel rail with pressure regulators but I don't want to put it in just to fuk it out again within 10 mins and have to find another one!

Has anyone had a problem anything like this before? Can anyone help me out with fixing the dam thing so I can get my fuel consumption up to where it should be and more importantly get rid of that dam flat spot! I figure the flat spot is just the engine getting flooded with petrol, and then once TVIS opens it is able to use all that fuel and it picks up again. Sound right?

Thanks muchly to anyone that can help me out with this!
